About Our Speaker

Howard Stewart is President/CEO (and majority shareholder) of AGM, a Tucson-based Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) organization with 125 employee-owners.

AGM manufacturers environmental control hardware for missiles, nuclear reactors and the International Space Station. AGM also manufactures wheelchair lifts to help physically-challenged individuals access stage/elevation changes in public facilities. Lastly, AGM manufactures the life-changing Segway-based “Omeo”, a hands-free, self-balancing, wheelchair that empowers differently-abled individuals to interact with our world in ways hardly imaginable!

In 2021, Howard was named “Arizona’s Transformational Leader of the Year”, primarily for the cutting-edge tuition assistance model he originated to incentivize up to 27% of AGM’s workforce attend college each year.

In 2018, Howard was named Southern Arizona’s CEO of the Year. In 2009, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce named AGM as “America’s Best Small Business of the Year”, the only Arizona business to ever receive this distinction.

Howard continues to dedicate personal time to numerous civic non-profits, having chaired our local United Way’s annual Giving Campaign, their Board of Directors and their Tocqueville (major giving) Society. He has also chaired the Diaper Bank’s “Dancing with the Star” Gala and the Heart Ball. He currently serves on the Southern Arizona Leadership Council and as a long-term mentor for the Emerging Leadership Council.
