Working with the Tucson Community

For the past two years, TYP has strengthened its philanthropic efforts by adopting a model whereby we select one local nonprofit organization to partner with for an entire year.
Throughout the year (July 1 to June 30), TYP works with the Philanthropic Partner to spread awareness of its mission and involve TYP members in volunteering, fundraising, and engagement activities. All hours, proceeds, and efforts from these events go to benefit the Philanthropic Partner TYP has selected.

By partnering with us, the Philanthropic Partner will receive the following key benefits:

EXPOSURE

TYP is proud to promote our Philanthropic Partner at various TYP events and in TYP communications, including monthly newsletters sent to 2,500+ contacts, the official website, social media platforms, and more.

VOLUNTEERING

TYP’s 135+ members are always looking for exciting ways to give back to the community. TYP serves as a direct pipeline to energetic volunteers.

FUNDRAISING

Over the past few years, TYP has raised more than $1,000 for our Philanthropic Partners and has also collected items to donate to the Philanthropic Partners through annual holiday drives.

MEMBERSHIP

TYP will provide a free one-year membership and a position on TYP’s Philanthropy Committee for a young professional working to support the mission of our Philanthropic Partner.

“Arts for All has loved partnering with Tucson Young Professionals. From volunteer projects to special events, TYP has helped spread the Arts for All mission with the community and helped raise funds to support our work. We look forward to more opportunities to partner with TYP that will strengthen the ties of goodwill between our organizations. Thanks, TYP!”

– Marcia Berger, Executive Director at Arts for All, Inc.

SELECTION PROCESS

Nonprofit 501(c)3 organizations operating within the Greater Tucson Area are invited to apply to be TYP’s Philanthropic Partner for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.
Initial interest submissions are due at the end of March.
The TYP Philanthropy Committee will review all submitted applications and will invite ten organizations to submit a short “fast pitch” video about their organization. After reviewing the submitted fast-pitch videos, the TYP Board of Directors will invite three organizations to present their fast pitch to TYP’s general membership in June. At this general membership meeting, TYP members will listen to the three fast pitches and then vote to select TYP’s new Philanthropic Partner for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.
