Our monthly social, at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tucson

TYP Connects are our monthly socials designed to gather, explore, connect, and enjoy our TYP community. This month join us for a free evening at MOCA and celebrate the launch of Kid Congo Powers’ memoir Some New Kind of Kick. Plus, galleries open late, live music by KXCI Community Radio DJs, food by Fork n Fire, and free beer by Barrio Brewing Company. Don’t miss this lively time to gather around art, music, and drinks!

7:00 PM: Reading from Some New Kind of Kick by Kid Congo Powers, followed by a Q&A and book signing. Some New Kind of Kick is an intimate, coming-of-age memoir by legendary guitarist Kid Congo Powers, detailing his experiences as a young, queer Mexican-American in 1970s Los Angeles through his rise in the glam rock and punk rock scenes. Published by Hachette.
