In addition to our positions on ballot propositions, we want to issue this statement:
Since 2007, we have helped attract and retain Tucson’s young professionals and ensure they have a voice in leading positive and inclusive development in the place they call home.
Today, we are Arizona’s largest economic development organization working with and on behalf of young professionals.
Economic development is about incentivizing top employers to do business here in the state. More so, it’s about building up cities and communities that meet the needs and wants of its residents. It’s about creating places where people feel safe and secure. Places where they can grow their careers, raise their families, and be civically engaged.
That development is anchored in agency: Every person has the ability and power to make decisions and exercise control over one’s life. Without agency and personal autonomy, any efforts toward building stronger communities and furthering development are in vain.
For that reason, we are urging our members to exercise their personal agency this election by voting, not just in the presidential race, but on state and local issues. And we call upon young professionals across the state to cast their ballots with agency and personal autonomy top of mind.
Tucson and Southern Arizona have made great strides in economic development. But we are at a crucial point. As young professionals, we must use our voice and vote to help shape Arizona’s future. Our active participation is key to creating the state we want to live in and ensuring its continued progress.
