June 2016 | Erin McEldowney

erinmcErin McEldowney moved to Tucson in 2009 and continues to stay and enjoy this family friendly community with her three young children. She realized shortly after arriving just how many opportunities there were to build a network of business professionals and friends. She grew up between Phoenix and Montana but says that Tucson makes her feel “at home,” though she does miss the Montana fishing. Erin says that having a ‘more than’ full time career, being a mom to three, and attending philanthropic/networking functions is sometimes a challenge, but with a pot of coffee a day (or three) she manages to always find more to take on!

Erin attended Cochise Community College, pursuing a degree in Psychology, before transferring to Southern New Hampshire University where she is currently enrolled. She jokes that she is on the 10-year program and will graduate with honors, in time. She says that hard work, dedication and learning her business inside and out has always taken her where she needed to go! Working up the ranks in the investment/financial industry, she has earned her Series 65, 63 and 6 financial licensing and was working as an Investment Advisor Representative before moving on to Business Development and Marketing at Peoples Mortgage Company. She enjoys being able to use her creative talents and to help others in the development of their business. It suites her well considering she has always derived joy out of lending a hand and making others happy!
Community service and philanthropic adventures are a passion to her and she is always looking for a way to make Tucson a better place. Her latest endeavor involved co-organizing a 700-person charity event, “Derby Day the Peoples Way,” with Tucson Young Professionals, GAP Ministries and Goodthreads. Together, they were able to raise about 11 thousand dollars for our Tucson Foster Children, all while having a ton of fun! Tucson Young Professionals has been a favorite non-profit of the various groups that she has been involved with and Erin has volunteered her time to the marketing board where she continues to meet the Young Pros that make it all happen.
In her spare time (what little she has) she enjoys being with her family and friends. Outdoor activities are some of her most sought after escapes. Anything from hiking the serene Catalina Mountains with her three beautiful children trucking behind, to hunting the treacherous Montana mountain ranges with Grandpa are on the menu of enjoyable activities! She grew up a “Mountain Woman” so growing a beard and camping out comes natural to her (she says hopefully she won’t grow a beard for another 20 years or so.) Aside from the outdoors, she enjoys yoga, a good happy hour, and countless hours of Audible on her commutes.
Erin says she looks forward to being in Tucson for many years to come and appreciates the opportunities that present themselves through this community of great people!
