TYP Professional Member of the Month

  • May 2015 Member of the Month – Melanie Maguire

Melanie Maguire is currently the Information Management Operations Manager for Golder Associates, a ground engineering and environmental consulting firm, where she helps technical communities of engineers and scientists with their data management and workflows.

Melanie moved to Tucson for college.  While studying Environmental Science and competing on the University of Arizona Soil Judging Team, she found her place – a city with hiking 15 minutes in any direction, warm weather, and friendly people.  Melanie joined the Tucson office of Golder Associates as an environmental scientist.  Melanie also discovered her second home, the Tucson Racquet and Fitness Club, where she spent many hours playing sand volleyball and enjoying time with friends.

After seeing many of her friends move away, Melanie transferred to Golder Associates Sunnyvale, CA office in Silicon Valley.  She really enjoyed work there, but missed Tucson, great friends, and the Tucson Racquet and Fitness Club.  Melanie joined Golder’s Global Information Management team and moved back to Tucson.

Melanie then joined TYP to spend time with people who enjoy Tucson as much as she does while helping make it a better place.  Melanie is currently the vice-chair for TYP’s Philanthropy Committee and enjoys attending Professional Development events.  She recommends TYP if you are interested in contributing to your Tucson community, participating in great discussions, and learning more about Tucson.
